Binding Time!

My last couple days off went super well! I got a LOT done! A crazy amount actually! It is now time for me to do some binding! I tried it over the weekend and there was a TERRIBLE!!! seam ripping accident! It was awful! So I seam ripped it all and I will try again today. I have loads of pictures to show you all of them were taken with my iPhone so I apologize for the quality but at the same time I don't because I have a giant love for my camera and once I take it out I want to play with it and take loads of photos and go for photo walks and just take loads of pictures. So while in the middle of a project it's best if I just iPhone and continue with the project. I promise once I finish my Shattered Hooter blanket I will pull out the big camera and take amazingly beautiful pictures and close ups and super pictures and when I finally get to give it to Three (my friends baby!) I'll try to get a few shots with her and the blanket! Lets GO BINDING!

This is me pointing out that I am an idiot and I make mistakes (I made this one about 8 times throughout the quilting process! Including when I was trying to fix it this time and was aware that I had to make sure my backing fabric wasn't being sneaky and folding back on its self.

This was a teaser picture for my step sister who has spent a lot of time and text messages encouraging me and helping me get to this point in the blanket.

Back to work doing more quilting I was 100% determined to  get this quilting stuff done that morning. I was actually dreaming the night before about my quilting plans!

This is a close up of one of the diamonds that I made! I'm 100% glad that I decided to sew on both of the sides of the piece of tape so that I could get those cute mini diamonds at the top, bottom, and both sides of the big diamond

The finished quilted quilt! Just waiting for some trimming and binding! And some better pictures! These pictures are terrible! Especially with the amount of work that went into this! I need to do better and stop taking the easy way out! Even though I think the excuse is legit!

A Pretty Busy Weekend

Sorry I missed yesterday with working 12 hours and being way busier than a regular Sunday I got caught up and forgot to post. The good news is I did get one of the baby gifts completely finished and The little guy will be getting his new blankie tonight. I've added pictures and everyone at work loved it. In all honesty my sister did the knitting because she's awesome. I've got pictures! Hopefully I'll get pictures of the little guy with his blanket one day soon!

Rainbows and Great People

This morning when I was at work my sister texted me to ask "I'd heard about the rainbow thing?" When I said no she sent me a bit about the story and told me to check out facebook and get the rest of the information. So I did and here it is

Wish for: a little girl who is sick


I am helping a friend out and asking everyone to help out! Could everyone,

 including you big kids, draw a simple picture of a rainbow and mail it to Patricia Verhelst Box 355, Radville, SK S0C 2G0 by next week and she will send them all in together. There is a little girl in Saskatoon who is sick who wishes to get a rainbow from everyone in the world. Please write your name and where you are from on it. Lets make a wish come true if it was your child you would want that! Thanks everyone and please copy and paste this to help spread the word! She is 10 years old and her name is Maranda.

I was instantly involved and positive I wanted to do this. So I decided that I am going to stitch a rainbow on a pillow case and send it to her. And I had a LOT of my awesome coworkers draw rainbows (I actually keep a box of 64 crayola crayons at my desk!). Even the fellas joined in. A lot of them were more than happy to when I explained what they were for! 

Originally I was going to do my one flower Wednesday post today but this came up instead. So One Flower Wednesday will move to One Flower Thursday. I was also planning on working on my surprise baby gift for my friend but I'm sure she would agree that this deserves my attention today. Please also join and lets make this young girls wish come true!

Sewing Space

Today I shall have the house to myself!!! (Excluding the cat and the bunnies! But they're my favorite part of my family! lol) The plan is to set myself up a little sewing space in the living room! LB's grandma had an auction sale last year just before she moved into an apartment and I bought a wicked awesome super lamp and its in my sewing space! Then I have a sewing table and a chair already in the space and I've been stacking my EPP fabric on it since I started that adventure. So I think its gonna be perfect. I've even told LB thats where I plan to put my sewing machine and he didn't insist that I take it to my craftroom. Although I did tell him that this way I can sew and watch Baseball! Which I'm actually starting to enjoy (but don't tell him that!)
Alright I'm off  to get started! Hopefully I'll have some pictures up soon! And if anyone out there has any great suggestions for blogs I should follow for beginning quilters please send me your suggestions!

 This is our record playing. Its also from the auction sale! We LOVE IT! We do however need more records because we don't have that many. Today I picked Buddy Holly! Yesterday we were listening to Michael Jackson's Thriller! Most excellent!

 This is my little place now! I can't wait to get a cork board for the wall! Hopefully LB can make it stay up! We have a super old house and getting things to stay on the walls is a bit harder than it sounds!

 I turned off my ultra cool light so you guys could see it a bit better! I love it! I think it'll also be perfect when I'm sewing. I can turn on one, two or three of the light bulbs depending on how dark it is. (See my handy tool sitting there! Please don't look Dad! I promise its not a good butter knife. Its a random one that doesn't belong to my set)

SEWING MACHINE! Its got sooo many options I'm a little intimidated by it. It did come with a DVD so I'll watch that and get some courage!

New Music

I've been a giant Swollen Members fan for years! Since Balanced as a matter of fact! I heart them! And both Madchild & Prevail's solo work is amazing! So today was a new Madchild solo release date! Guess what I downloaded first thing this morning? Can you hear the excitement?!? LOVE IT!!!

My sister is awesome!

My sister is a knitting and crocheting beast! She makes me a new scarf every year. Mostly because some how between spring and fall I manage to lose mine. However this year she started to move me down the list (I still have my jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas one from last year so I won't freeze! And I have my 2012 scarf all picked out. I just need to get the right colors!)
This year she has a massive list of ones she would like to make and sell! Here is the first awesome one! *i will not steal this! I will not steal this*

1 Finished Baby Blanket

So I put up some pictures the other day of a baby gift that me and my sister were working on. So It's finished and its been gifted and it was 100% loved. Both Daddy and Mommy loved it and hopefully little Ms. Teagan will like it when she's big enough to appreciate it. And it will be perfect in the winter time!

A wicked Saturday

Today has been awesome! I woke up and it was sunny! Yup, finally some sun! Then I did some stinky house work, lazed on the couch, then went shopping! I got new fabric! I'll post pics tomorrow! I got new scissors (I have a serious scissor issue! I love scissors!) and then I came home and LB and I went out for a training walk. We did just over 2 miles and his leg is acting up so we stopped. Then we went shopping again. The running room was closed... So no new shorts... But I did go to Michaels and got these awesome clips that I'm in love with! I love Saturdays off!
