Progress

I've actually been getting a lot of crafting done the last few days. I have decided that I am going to restart my English Paper Piecing quilt. My other one was a bit of a pain because my original template wore out and so I was trying to get a new one of the same size. Plus I was hand cutting them all out which lead to numerous errors along the way. I'll just my completed hexies for other projects. 

So I did get two of those flowers competed. 

This one reminds me of my two nieces who recently picked the last few remaining strawberries off the plants at my parents house. 

And I have one more done but I'm going to hoard it until one flower Wednesday. 

Last night I also did some work on my Scrappy Tripalong quilt 

Hoping that this now gives me some much needed motivation to keep working.

Oh My Goodness! It's ONE FLOWER WEDNESDAY!!

I was saving my flowers for today!! And then I almost missed it!!! 

So with a little bit of explanation... I bought a Fiskar's Hexagon Puncher!! It's amazing!!! LOVE IT! So I've got them going....

Live & Candy Crush

I'm on days off, Today and Yesterday, however I am not getting a lot done. I've been sucked in to Candy Crush on Facebook and Live on Youtube! Before I know it I've been sitting at my desk for a an hour and a half. Yesterday I actually forgot that I threw clothes in the washer. (Thank god I don't live in an apartment! I would have found my clothes thrown some where in the laundry room this morning when I finally made it back to the washer to put switch to the dryer)

There is just something amazing about Ed's voice and the band as a whole! And on you tube you can find whole concerts! How could I walk away from 1:20 minutes with him? Thats right!?! I can't! Maybe after I can actually get up. Go get my clothes from the dryer and get out the door. I have mail to send and coffee to get at Starbucks, I have to go to the bank to put checks in. Thank you work for my bonus! It paid for a portion of my tattoo last week! Which I still 100% love this week! I love it even more when I see sunsets on TV. Like the one on Suits!
I've also been looking for a new show to watch on Netflix or to Download and watch! I get a lot more embroidery done when I have a show that I can watch while I stitch. Same with my EPP (Which has been mighty neglected lately)

Sewing Space

Today I shall have the house to myself!!! (Excluding the cat and the bunnies! But they're my favorite part of my family! lol) The plan is to set myself up a little sewing space in the living room! LB's grandma had an auction sale last year just before she moved into an apartment and I bought a wicked awesome super lamp and its in my sewing space! Then I have a sewing table and a chair already in the space and I've been stacking my EPP fabric on it since I started that adventure. So I think its gonna be perfect. I've even told LB thats where I plan to put my sewing machine and he didn't insist that I take it to my craftroom. Although I did tell him that this way I can sew and watch Baseball! Which I'm actually starting to enjoy (but don't tell him that!)
Alright I'm off  to get started! Hopefully I'll have some pictures up soon! And if anyone out there has any great suggestions for blogs I should follow for beginning quilters please send me your suggestions!

DONE!

 This is our record playing. Its also from the auction sale! We LOVE IT! We do however need more records because we don't have that many. Today I picked Buddy Holly! Yesterday we were listening to Michael Jackson's Thriller! Most excellent!

 This is my little place now! I can't wait to get a cork board for the wall! Hopefully LB can make it stay up! We have a super old house and getting things to stay on the walls is a bit harder than it sounds!

 I turned off my ultra cool light so you guys could see it a bit better! I love it! I think it'll also be perfect when I'm sewing. I can turn on one, two or three of the light bulbs depending on how dark it is. (See my handy tool sitting there! Please don't look Dad! I promise its not a good butter knife. Its a random one that doesn't belong to my set)

SEWING MACHINE! Its got sooo many options I'm a little intimidated by it. It did come with a DVD so I'll watch that and get some courage!

Date for One Flower Wednesday

Today I am sentenced to ice and rest because I can officially start running again tomorrow! Yay!!! My sister is away visiting our family and LB is at work. It's okay because Yoshi is filling in and he is going to keep me company while I sit on my couch and stitch. I have finished my one flower so far an now to basting and thinking about the new black I need to get.

Waiting

I've hurt my knee some how. I'm not sure what happened but it has stopped my training. With three weeks to go before my half marathon this is just not gonna work. Today I'm doing something about it. I am waiting and waiting and waiting to see someone at the sports clinic. I started my wait at 7:30. It is now almost 1:00. Hopefully soon. But while I've been waiting I did some bunches and I've been reading "Wild". And I went and met a friends little girl. So all in all a good day well spent. And it will be even better when I get to see the doctor 😃 hopefully soon.

One Rainy Wednesday and One Flower Wednesday

This week has been exceptionally busy. I worked overtime on Friday. Then I worked all weekend Saturday and Sunday were 12 hour shifts and Monday was 10 hours. And the in-laws were in town. LB's birthday was on Friday and then one of his brothers birthdays was on Saturday. Then yesterday I had my very first Executive board meeting for our union! And then LB and I went for a run. It's was disturbingly hot out. Today is my day off and I started it at 7:00 with an amazing run. It was cool out and there was lightening lighting up the sky but no rain. Now it's raining and it's finally cooling off its wonderful! Which brings me to my flower today. I LOVE this cute elephant fabric!

New Bed Plans

Yesterday we got fantastic news! We are getting a new bed!! What!! What!! A new bed!!! And it's gonna be a king sized bed which will perfectly fit my blanket plans!!!
And I finished the stitch work on my baby blanket gifts. Now tomorrow I will hopefully be attaching them to their knitted blankets. More pictures to follow!

One of life's simple joys... Fabric

My spoils from yesterday. These will all be made into bunches for my quilt. I'm ubber excited for the blue fabric with the Elephants. That will make the bedding truly special for me and LB! I cannot wait to show him one of those flowers! I also bought a charcoal grey color just for the edge and the Spaces between my flowers that need to be filled in to complete the pattern I want! Very excited for this! I cannot wait to start putting pieces together!

I also picked up this fabric! I'm not 100% sure what I want to do with it but I love Winnie The Pooh and the whole gang! I love that he has his head stuck in the honey pot and that there are little bees buzzing around him. I'm extremely happy with this find! Thanks to my sister who pointed it out... or I think thats how it happened!

Mushroom flower Wednesday

Today was supposed to be a gardening day but the weather didn't hold up for that. I did get a lot done though. I cleaned up my house and went running and spent some time playing with my new camera lens in the garden. I took some fantastic photos of a fly and a bee. I also got this flower done. So all in all success!

I'm not 100% sure that this flower is purple enough to count as purple. But I'm gonna wait and see when I get more pieces done.

One Flower Wednesday Part 2

Yesterday I was at the dentist and there was this great picture that my dentist's partner (the other dentist who works in the building, not life partner) took. It was a great shot of this beach with a palm tree and a rainbow. It inspired me to finish one of each of the solid colored flowers for my quilt for my One Flower Wednesday posting today. 

So I did manage to get one of each color completed for my post today. I had all these great ideas about taking a photo of them on the grass (which I freshly mowed yesterday) under the bright sunlight. And then the day got in the way. It was Tim Horton's Camp day, so I went there a few times to get coffee and help them raise money to send kids to Camp. And I played with my beasty boy, see part one for photos. And I went to Chapters to see if they had any good books on EPP. They didn't have a single book! Like WTF? A whole row for knitting, another for crochet and very very little for hand stitching. Disappointed I was. (If anyone knows any good books please comment and let me know. I would love to get one or two.) 

Although my biggest distraction was The Big C on Netflix, I was trying to not watch the show because it seemed like one I would really get emotionally involved in. I should have followed my gut. What an amazing show!
